ginobambino: A friend of mine recommended this show. I tried watching it but I stopped after 10 minutes. Unbearable. Ugh. FU.

You, sir, are wrong. The Big Bang Theory is fantastic. Maybe you are not nerdy enough or something.P.S. maybe it helps that I knew two guys damn near exactly like Sheldon and Leonard so I always picture them and relate scenarios to memories?
No, this show is fucking awesome!
You know, I hate to say that I enjoy a current “traditional” sitcom (with a laugh track, obvious and dumb jokes, poor acting, etc.) but I really do like this one. It’s not always solid, but they really manage to pull off the nerd humor, for the most part. I know people who are like these characters, and sometimes I am these characters. It’s insulting while still managing to be respectful.
For the most part though, the only serious reason to watch is for Jim Parsons’ performance as Sheldon, a character that I simultaneously identify with and am repulsed by. That said, PROTIP: Watch more than one or two episodes. It gets better once you get into the “swing of things.”
The Big Bang Theory is great because the nerdyness works so well, plus Sheldon is me if I actually said what I was thinking.
